After Care Tattoo
Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure the longevity and vibrancy of your new tattoo. Please follow these guidelines carefully:
Immediate Aftercare
-
A protective second-skin bandage has been applied to your tattoo. Leave this bandage in place for 3 days. You may shower with the bandage on.
-
While the second-skin bandage is in place, avoid submerging your tattoo in water (no baths, swimming, or soaking).
-
The tattoo may appear blurry or distorted under the bandage. This is normal and due to excess fluid and ink being drawn from the tattoo. The tattoo will be clear once the bandage is removed.
After 3 Days
-
Gently remove the second-skin bandage under lukewarm running water (ideally in the shower).
-
Wash the tattoo with a mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean towel.
-
Apply a thin layer of a recommended wound-healing ointment (such as Bepanthen or Panthenol) to the tattoo.
Ongoing Care
-
Continue to apply ointment multiple times a day, ensuring you use thin layers to allow the tattoo to breathe.
-
Keep the tattoo clean and moisturized throughout the healing process.
-
Avoid scratching, picking, or rubbing the tattoo.
-
Minimize direct sun exposure to the tattoo for at least several weeks. Once healed, always apply sunscreen to protect the tattoo and its color.
-
Avoid tight clothing that may rub or irritate the tattoo.
-
Refrain from activities that may cause excessive sweating or friction (e.g., strenuous exercise, saunas) for at least a week.
-
Do not submerge the tattoo in water (pools, oceans, baths) for at least two weeks, or until fully healed.
Important Notes
-
Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your new tattoo.
-
If the second-skin bandage comes off prematurely, keep the tattoo clean and continue with the aftercare instructions as outlined.
-
Stay hydrated and maintain good overall health to promote optimal healing.
-
For long-term care, keep your skin moisturized and protect your tattoo from the sun.

Permanent Makeup Aftercare
Permanent Makeup Aftercare Instructions
Congratulations on your new permanent makeup! To ensure optimal healing and the best possible results, please follow these aftercare instructions carefully.
General Aftercare
-
Cleanliness: Gently cleanse the treated area 2-3 times daily with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean, soft cloth. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing.
-
Moisturizing: Apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare ointment or balm provided to you. Use a clean cotton swab to apply the product, avoiding direct contact with your fingers.
-
Avoid Irritants: For the first 7-10 days, avoid makeup, lotions, creams, and other skincare products on the treated area, unless specifically instructed otherwise.
-
Sun Protection: Once healed, always protect your permanent makeup from the sun by using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Sun exposure can cause fading and discoloration.
-
No Picking or Scratching: Do not pick, scratch, rub, or peel any scabs or flaking skin. Allow the area to heal naturally to avoid scarring or pigment loss.
-
Avoid Water: Minimize contact with water for the first week. This includes swimming, hot tubs, saunas, and excessive sweating. When showering, avoid direct water pressure on the treated area.
-
Sleep: Try to sleep on your back to avoid pressure on the treated area during the initial healing phase.
Specific Aftercare by Area
-
Eyebrows: Avoid eyebrow pencils, powders, or gels until the area is fully healed.
-
Eyeliner: Avoid using mascara, eyeshadow, or eyeliner until the area is fully healed. You may experience some temporary swelling or irritation. Cool compresses can help reduce swelling.
-
Lips: Avoid lipstick, lip gloss, or lip balm until the area is fully healed. Drink fluids with a straw to avoid contact with the treated area. Avoid spicy or acidic foods that may irritate the lips.
Important Reminders
-
Follow-up Appointments: Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments to ensure proper healing and color retention.
-
Individual Healing: Healing times vary from person to person. Be patient and follow the aftercare instructions provided by your permanent makeup artist.
-
Contact Your Artist: If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, please do not hesitate to contact your permanent makeup artist.
Long-Term Care
-
Touch-ups: Permanent makeup is not truly permanent. Touch-up appointments may be needed periodically to maintain the color and shape of your permanent makeup.
-
Skincare: Maintain a good skincare routine to keep your skin healthy and hydrated, which will help prolong the life of your permanent makeup.
By following these aftercare instructions, you can help ensure that your permanent makeup heals beautifully and provides you with long-lasting results.
